Donor Advised Funds (DAF)
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account that supports ministries in a sustained way, provides tax benefits, and opportunity to invest for growth. A DAF can be opened through a trusted financial advisor or the YFC Foundation. Funds are contributed to the DAF, and grants can be given to West Michigan Youth for Christ or other charities whenever desired.
Individual Retirement Account (IRA)
An IRA is a tax-advantaged personal savings account designed to help individuals save for retirement. It allows investments—such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds—to grow either tax-deferred or tax-free. Individuals age 70½ or older may support West Michigan Youth for Christ through a tax-advantaged gift from an IRA. A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows up to $105,000 per year to be transferred directly from an IRA without incurring income tax. To get started, please contact your IRA Administrator.
Stocks
Donating stock to West Michigan Youth for Christ supports the mission by giving shares instead of cash. The stock is transferred directly to the organization then sold to fund local ministry programs. This means the full market value of the gift is often deductible, while directly supporting mentoring and outreach to youth in West Michigan.
Cryptocurrency
Cryptocurrency donated to West Michigan Youth for Christ can maximize impact. Gifts of appreciated crypto are not taxable events, allowing avoidance of capital gains and enabling a deduction for the full value.
