Hope with a Pulse

While at camp

I saw a tired crew of staff and volunteers who relentlessly pursued and poured into lost kids. While worn down physically, they were energized by the One who can give them unfathomable strength. They listened to the heart wrenching stories of abuse, abandonment, and brokenness that don’t belong in 7th or 8th grader’s lives. They listened with the kind of empathy and love that can only come from the Creator to help accomplish His plan in the lives of these precious kids.

Each time I get to see our staff and volunteers in action, I am reminded of Paul’s words to the church in Thessalonica, where he declares, "because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the Gospel of God but our lives as well.” (I Thess 2:8) They brought their best to camp and left everything on the field; sometimes in a Crud War and sometimes in a Capture Your Leader event. Out of this dedication to sharing the love of Christ with kids, we see them pictured here, listening to God and writing Him a letter during their Solo Time, (most for the very first time in their lives).

I am thankful for the gifted team we have here at YFC from our staff, to our volunteers to our army of donors who give so sacrificially. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of kids. You truly are hope with a pulse.
